Teaching & tutoring

I began my teaching career in 2010 and have experience across schools and further education colleges in the West Midlands and Worcestershire. Over this time, I have taught a wide range of qualifications across business, computing, and ICT, including UK and international courses.

Qualifications and courses taught include:

• GCSE and A Level Business (Pearson, AQA, OCR, WJEC, Eduqas), including International GCSE and International A Level
• Vocational qualifications (BTEC Nationals, OCR Technicals, OCR Nationals, OCR iMedia)
• Degree level pathways in Business and Computing

I am approachable and easy to work with, and I strongly believe that positive professional relationships are central to student success. My teaching focuses on building confidence alongside secure subject knowledge, with a clear emphasis on explanation, exam technique, and applying knowledge effectively in assessments.

Alongside my teaching practice, I work as an examiner for OCR and Pearson, giving me up-to-date insight into mark schemes, examiner expectations, and the common issues that limit student performance. This directly informs my teaching and tutoring approach.

In addition to college-based teaching, I also work as an online tutor for Wolsey Hall Oxford, supporting home-educated students across the UK and internationally. Through online tutoring, I have worked with students across Europe and beyond, including learners based in Spain, Romania, and several countries in the Middle East. This international experience has strengthened my ability to adapt lessons to different curricula, cultures, and learning styles.

More recently, I have written my first textbook for a BTEC GCSE qualification and contributed to course development for the OCR exam board. I tutor students on both a regular and one-off basis and particularly enjoy working with students after mock examinations, where focused feedback and exam technique often lead to rapid improvement.

Outside of teaching, I have a keen interest in art, football and nutrition, and I enjoy staying active and continuing to learn beyond the classroom.
